Hans Edward Hammonds is a Stavanger-based artist and art communicator who explores various forms of collaboration and participation. He has worked with the wind and weather, tested whether adults and children can be truly equal in art production, and attempted to spread the gospel of art in the pedestrian streets of Stavanger. He completed his education in 2010 at The University of Auckland in New Zealand (MFA) and has since played an active role in Stavanger’s art and cultural scene — as an artist, but also as a former board member of Studio17, the collective K-Lab, a member of the artistic committee at Tou Scene, and more recently as part of Velferden Sokndal Scene for Contemporary Art. In recent years, he has worked on several participatory projects, with a particular focus on children and youth.
