Welcome to an evening inspired by the exhibition Play by Tiril Hasselknippe. Curator of architecture at the National Museum, Victoria Bugge Øye, introduces us to how utopia and play have been used in architecture and art. DJ Guttorm Andreasen plays music with the theme of "utopian societies", while Johan Wendt Olaussen from Pjolter & Punsj mixes delicious, utopian drinks.

What exactly is a utopia? And what have ideas about Utopia meant for art and architecture? What exactly is a utopia? And what have ideas about Utopia meant for art and architecture? In her presentation, architectural historian Victoria Bugge Øye will give us a quick introduction to the concept of utopia and how utopian ideas flared up again in art and architecture in the 1960s, perhaps for the very last time. Inspired by radical political impulses and technological innovations, architects began to imagine cities and societies where work was automated and where people could spend their days unfolding in free play and creativity. This was not so much like the perfect society "Utopia" that Thomas More wrote about in 1516, but more reminiscent of pedagogical ideas about children's inherent creativity and need for play that circulated in the post-war period. This evening you can learn more about how the child became a model for the ideal society and for how adults could live freer lives.

Free entry. The exhibition is open during the event.
