Lindstrøm - On A Clear Day I Can See You Forever
Perkapella and Kunsthall Stavanger present Lindstrøm in concert. On the 11th October Lindstrøm is releasing his sixth soloalbum, On A Clear Day I Can See You Forever on the Smalltown Supersound label. The album is based on the sketches from his three sold out shows at Henie Onstad art center the fall of 2018. The disco beats have been replaced in favor of a more meditative expression — an epic calm — created with an arsenal of analog synths. For this reason, Lindstrøm has chosen to play in places that best suit his music: the Troldhaugen in Bergen, the Kulturkirken Jacob in Oslo, and Kunsthall Stavanger. These are places where he can play with space and stretch towards the cosmos.

Farao
Support: Lokoy
Farao combines soviet disco with smooth 90s R&B, and she utilizes the tradtional string instrument zither to make her lush iron curtain of sonic ecstasy. The music is built on foundation of her sensual vocal harmonies and vintage synth collection, and she draws inspiration from TLC,Laraaji, Alexei Kozlov and Alice Coltrane. Farao will perform material from the album 'Pure-O', which was released on American record label Western Vinyl in 2018.

Lokoy is the solo project of 21-year-old songwriter, musician and producer Lasse Lokoy - an electronic and explorative listen that stands in kaleidoscopic contrast to his work with acclaimed Norwegian pop-punk collective Sløtface.

Bananaskonsert vol. 2: Stavanger Kammermusikkfestival
Once again, we wish you welcome to a Bananas concert at Kunsthall Stavanger. The intention for this event is the complete absence of any theme: the cacophony of contrasting pieces of music shall be the driver. We offer tweaked Christmas songs, pianists driven crazy by unpredictable metronomes, computers that try to take over from the humans, and dystopic views of the future behind the controls of an aeroplane. And when this begins to accumulate halfway, we shall serve you the piece that tens of thousands of Norwegians can play the first four bars of, but which no pianist have dared to play. Until now.

A collaboration by Kammermusikfestivalen, Kunsthall Stavanger and Kapittel.

Kate NV & Julius Smack
Kunsthall Stavanger presents Kate NV & Julius Smack
Kate NV is Kate Shilonosova's solo project. Her background is as a guitarist in the postpunk-band Glintshake, and she is a member of the avant-garde Moscow Scratch Orchestra. She explores new sonic grounds with her solo project Kate NV. Her sensuous and exploratory electronic minimalism is based on the places she is moving within, and her latest release "дляFOR" (RVNG, 2018) is a fleeting and expressive soundtrack to her hometown Moscow . Inspired by moods and sounds from her apartment, Kate NV has created a brilliant soundscape that complements the metropolis of Moscow. Kate NV has received attention as one of Russia's most interesting musicians. Do not miss this one!

Julius Smack is the stage persona of musician Peter Hernandez. He has been described as a statue that has awakened from ancient times to ponder social and political issues through song and dance. Through simple means, white clothes and a spartan expression, Julius Smack communicates stories with electronic music and simple gestures from Japanese butoh traditions and underground phenomenas such as vogueing.

Since their debut single Burning Eyes in 2017, both audience and press has been excited about their music. They have been awarded the NOPA songwriters scholarship, and performed at Vill Vill Vest, Liveeurope Festival Oslo, and were invited as support for Unknown Mortal Orchestras concert in Bergen.

Stavanger Symfoniorkester - Abrahamsens vintertoner: Schnee

The Chamber Ensemble from Stavanger Symphony Orchestra with Hans Abrahamsen's piece Schnee at Kunsthall Stavanger.

The leading Danish contemporary composer, Hans Abrahamsen’s, compositional style was associated with the musical direction of simplicity in the early 1970’s, but his music has moved in several different directions in more recent years. After 2000, he has developed new composition techniques inspired by Bach’s counterpoints, such as in the work of Schnee written in 2006-08. The composer became familiar with Bach’s music by arranging various canons. He arranged them so that they would repeat again and again – as a kind of minimalist music. Hearing the music in this way, opened him to a brand new and inspiring world of time in motion.
