Film Screening with Sølvberget Cinematek

On the occasion of Anette Gellein’s exhibition Tender Endings at Kunsthall Stavanger, we invite you to an evening screening of one of the artist’s many sources of inspiration: Orlando, directed by Sally Potter. Gellein will give a short introduction before the film.

Orlando is a film directed by Sally Potter, based on Virginia Woolf’s novel of the same name. The film follows Orlando, a young nobleman in 17th-century England who mysteriously stops aging and, over the course of several centuries, lives as both a man and a woman. With its playful and poetic style, the film explores themes such as gender, identity, time, and desire.

The event will take place at Odeon Cinema Stavanger, and tickets will be available through the cinema’s website. Tickets will go on sale later this autumn.

There will also be an additional screening of the film by Cinemateket on Tuesday 1 December 12pm. Both events take place at Odeon Kino Stavanger and tickets are available via their website.
